FUNDRAISING DINNER

BOCAIP RAISES FUNDS FOR ORPHANS AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN

The Ministry of Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration Permanent Secretary Mr Thuso Ramodimoosi has applauded Botswana Christian AIDS Intervention Programme, BOCAIP for their tireless efforts in ensuring that orphans and vulnerable children are cared for.

Speaking at the fundraising dinner held in Gaborone on the 14th September 2018 where the main objective was to raise funds for Bana ba Keletso Day-care Centre based in Molepolole, Mr Ramodimoosi said the government of Botswana does recognise the role played by BOCAIP towards vulnerable children. “ as the chairperson of the Thematic Working Group on social upliftment I will ensure that BOCAIP is fully engaged to appreciate the challenges they experience in their interaction with vulnerable members of the society”, he said. He again encouraged the church community to come forth to assist saying BOCAIP as a Christian organization needed their support as a church.

On his remarks Molepolole Board Chairperson Mr Hlala Maphenduka decried lack of funding as a major problem stating that at some point the day-care was compelled to close due to lack of finances. He appealed to the government to assist them so as to sustain the institution.

Bana ba Keletso day-care centre is currently operating with 22 children and 1 teacher hence it has a capacity to cater for 54 children and 2 teachers.
